Something about mental approach and physcial strength
A perceptual error :
1. attending to inappropriate cues - listening to the talks of the opposing team rather than visually attending to the racket & the shuttlecock.
2. under-estimating the approach velocity of the shuttlecock.
3. failing to detect predict the spin/direction characteristics of the shuttlecock.
4. incorrectly predicting the shuttlecock's direction or angle (line).
5. incorrectly predicting the landing position of the shuttlecock ( length ).
6. failing to correctly read the court surface characteristics.
A decision making error:
1. selecting to play no shot when a shot was necessary
2. selecting to play back rather than forward ( attacking or defensive styles)
3. selecting to horizontal shot rather than a vertical one.
A movement excecution error :
1. the muscles failing ot respond with the force and speed required , due to fatique ( no mucular endurance ,etc)
2. the neural commands to the muscles being incorrect , resulting in the racket's direction moving straight back towards the stumps rather than back and cross.( Racket's correct handling/grips most vital for badminton 's player)
An example of the Time Constraint imposed upon an " Open Skilled Performance" ( badminton ) . The badminton player receiving service, may have less than 3/100 of the second to decide "What kind of stroke to play ".
The difference between a positive attitude and negative attitude can often mean the difference between success and failure.
# A positive attitude can see opportunities in a situation
# A negative attitude will only see the problems and obstacles
